Lead Enhanced Life Underwriting Analyst (Life Underwriting)

Location: Work from home in the USA; remote environment with occasional travel of less than 10%.

Salary: $87,000–$105,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of 12.5%.

What you will do

• Lead life underwriting transformation initiatives focused on modernization, automation, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Technology, Operations, Product, Distribution, QA, Sales and Marketing, and vendors to define needs and deliver solutions.
• Facilitate project planning, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, stabilization, and post-implementation monitoring.
• Evaluate data sources, underwriting rules, and tools to improve decision-making.
• Develop training, knowledge-transfer, communication, and business-readiness plans.
• Resolve issues, manage escalations, coordinate stakeholders, and coach team members without direct people-management responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of life or health underwriting experience.
• Three years of underwriting experience within hirify.global or three years of high-level experience on an enhanced underwriting project.
• Understanding of the enhanced underwriting user interface and in-depth knowledge of industry products.
• Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to continue education in the insurance sector.

Nice to have

• Experience with life underwriting workbench platforms, rules engines, and automated decisioning systems.
• Experience supporting vendor integrations and underwriting data sources.
• FALU or LOMA courses, FLMI designation, or related coursework.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
