Senior Clinical System Lead (Clinical Research)

Location: Johannesburg, Reading, or Swansea; remote or office-based work available

What you will do

• Lead the planning, setup, maintenance, and oversight of clinical systems used in global clinical trials.
• Act as the clinical systems lead for assigned studies, coordinating with sponsors, study teams, vendors, and technology partners.
• Translate protocols and study requirements into systems supporting data collection, review, and reporting.
• Oversee integrations, data flows, vendor-managed technologies, system documentation, and study deliverables.
• Manage risks, issues, project status, study meetings, system reviews, and customer interactions.
• Lead user acceptance testing, quality reviews, process improvements, mentoring, and proposal support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in Clinical Data Science, Clinical Systems, Clinical Data Management, or Electronic Data Capture environments.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, GCP, and regulatory requirements in clinical research.
• Experience implementing, managing, and optimising clinical systems across multiple studies or programmes.
• Knowledge of clinical data platforms, integrations, data flows, and system validation principles.
• Demonstrated project leadership experience with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
