Head of Risk

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid working with three days per week in the office required

What you will do

• Establish, lead and maintain hirify.global Ireland’s independent risk management function.
• Design and embed the Risk Management Framework, including policies, governance, reporting and escalation arrangements.
• Oversee material risks across credit, conduct, consumer protection, operations, outsourcing, regulatory compliance, strategy and reputation.
• Develop risk appetite metrics, triggers and thresholds, and provide independent second-line challenge on products, customer journeys, outsourcing and business change.
• Deliver risk reporting and dashboards covering incidents, complaints, arrears, impairments, customer outcomes and remediation.
• Lead and develop a small independent risk team.

Requirements

• Significant senior risk management experience in an Irish regulated environment, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Irish regulatory requirements, risk management, governance, credit risk, conduct, consumer protection, outsourcing and operational resilience.
• Experience establishing or enhancing risk frameworks, governance structures, risk appetite, reporting and controls.
• Experience providing independent challenge on products, customer journeys, credit decisioning, outsourcing and business change.
• Experience engaging with boards, executive management, senior stakeholders and regulators, with strong influencing and communication skills.
• Strong independent judgement, strategic awareness and collaborative leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Professional qualification in risk, finance, audit, compliance, law, governance or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of the Consumer Protection Code 2025 and Standards for Business.
• Readiness to undertake a regulated Pre-Approval Controlled Function role if required.
