TL;DR
Head of Billing (Payments and Subscription Billing): Leading centralized Billing strategy and optimizing payment infrastructure across 12+ subscription-based mobile products with an accent on payment performance, revenue recovery, processing economics, and scalable operating models. Focus on improving authorization and conversion rates, managing PSP and acquiring-bank relationships, mitigating fraud and chargebacks, and building a high-performing Billing team.
Location: Remote (Ukraine); the role can also be performed anywhere in the world

What you will do
- Develop and execute a portfolio-wide Billing strategy focused on revenue growth, payment efficiency, and profitability.
- Optimize payment approval rates, subscription conversion, revenue recovery, transaction routing, recurring payments, and retry strategies.
- Manage integrations and strategic relationships with PSPs, payment gateways, acquiring banks, and other payment partners.
- Monitor payment performance, fraud and risk metrics, chargebacks, processing expenses, infrastructure reliability, and incident response.
- Partner with Product CEOs and technical teams to prioritize Billing initiatives and align central and product-level ownership.
- Lead and develop the Billing team while building scalable processes, accountability, and operating models.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Payments, Billing, Payment Operations, or Payment Product Management, including leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of subscription-based B2C digital businesses and payment processing.
- Hands-on experience with merchant accounts, payment gateways, acquiring banks, payment orchestration, recurring billing, authorization optimization, and payment recovery.
- Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard regulations, fraud prevention, anti-fraud systems, chargeback management, and payment risk mitigation.
- Experience managing PSP relationships, negotiating commercial terms, analyzing large datasets, and collaborating with engineering teams on payment integrations.
- Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Stripe, Primer, PayPal, or other major payment service providers and orchestration platforms.
- Experience scaling web subscription billing infrastructure or working in a multi-product, venture-builder, or decentralized product environment.
- Experience managing payment operations across multiple geographies, currencies, and acquiring markets.
- Knowledge of subscription unit economics, LTV optimization, and payment-related profitability metrics.
- Experience in mobile applications or other high-volume B2C subscription businesses.
