Lead Mechanical Engineer (Heat Pumps) - France

Location: Field-based across the Amiens area, with work at construction sites, from home, or from the Lille office when required; on-site role in France

Salary: €2,900 per month, plus additional pay for overtime and on-call work

What you will do

• Set up the technical function for the heat pump department in France.
• Supervise the quality and proper functioning of air source heat pump installations delivered by local partners.
• Visit construction sites across the Amiens area to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
• Provide direct technical support and troubleshoot installation challenges.
• Use heat pump installation expertise to improve customer experience and provide low-carbon advice.
• Review and challenge technical specifications and mechanical drawings.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience installing and maintaining air source heat pump systems.
• Experience as a plumbing and heating engineer, including heating system design and fault finding.
• Experience reviewing and challenging technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Amiens region.
• Clean French driving licence and CAP/BEP or VAE-level qualification.
• RGE and Qualibat certifications, BR NF C18-510 electrical habilitation, and technical English at B1 level.

Nice to have

• Comfort using computers, including Excel.
• Experience with the electrical side of heat pumps.
• Additional BR electrical qualification.
