Project Manager IV

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of complex, university-wide projects and strategic initiatives through the full project lifecycle.
• Develop project charters, implementation plans, timelines, milestones, performance measures, communication plans, and resource plans.
• Establish and improve project governance, portfolio management standards, intake, prioritization, scheduling, and reporting practices.
• Monitor risks, dependencies, resources, deliverables, milestones, and outcomes; identify barriers and coordinate mitigation strategies.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, executive reports, presentations, and recurring project status updates.
• Facilitate collaboration among executive leadership, faculty, staff, administrators, project sponsors, initiative owners, and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, public administration, organizational leadership, project management, or a related field.
• Nine years of progressively responsible experience managing complex projects, programs, organizational initiatives, strategic priorities, or related work.
• Experience leading projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of project management, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, facilitation, and time-management skills.
• Employees hired without an approved project management certification must obtain one within 24 months of hire.

Nice to have

• PMP, CAPM, Lean Six Sigma, or another related project management certification.
• Experience in institutional transformation, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, continuous improvement, or higher education.
• Experience with project or portfolio management platforms and executive-level dashboards or reports.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Six Sigma, or hybrid project management approaches.
