Principal Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: 221 River St, Hoboken, New Jersey, United States

Annual salary: $132,000–$264,000 in Hoboken; $143,000–$286,000 in Sunnyvale. Additional performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead platform engineering initiatives focused on scalable cloud-native infrastructure and reusable tooling.
• Own the software development lifecycle for distributed systems, including design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Architect and integrate AI/ML solutions for intelligent applications serving millions of users.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance through sound architectural decisions.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, standardization, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading platform engineering and cloud-native architecture initiatives.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, incident response, and full software development lifecycle management.
• Strong expertise in AI/ML integration, model-driven design, and intelligent software systems.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript, Dart, Rust, and C++.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical judgment, architectural planning, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, digital accessibility, and inclusive product development.
