Staff Software Engineer (AI Stream Processing & Analytics)

Location: Remote within the United States; locations include Poughkeepsie, Lowell, Rochester, Tucson, Research Triangle Park, Armonk, Boston, Bellevue, Atlanta, San Jose, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Salary: $207,000–$331,200 per year.

What you will do

• Design and build backend services in Go, Java, and Python for AI and model inference on real-time data.
• Own features end to end, from technical design and stakeholder alignment through delivery and rollout.
• Make architectural decisions across model lifecycle management, inference routing, agent execution, control-plane scheduling, and serving systems.
• Ensure production quality through testing, documentation, operability, reliability, and safe rollouts.
• Improve engineering practices through code reviews, design feedback, and cross-team technical leadership.
• Participate in on-call support for owned services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems or cloud-native backend infrastructure in production.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, distributed-systems patterns, control loops, API servers, high-scale control planes, containerization, networking, and resource isolation.
• Proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, or Python, with willingness to work across all three.
• Experience leading cross-team technical work and converting ambiguous requirements into designs.
• Ability to work without current or future visa sponsorship; hirify.global will not provide visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with model serving, LLM or agent infrastructure, or streaming data systems.
• Master's degree.
