What you will do

• Plan and carry out laboratory experiments with guidance from experienced scientists.
• Analyse and interpret scientific results and communicate findings through presentations, discussions, technical reports, and summaries.
• Support Materials Characterisation projects involving active ingredients, excipients, intermediates, finished products, and packaging materials.
• Help investigate manufacturing, product, supplier, and supply challenges using analytical science.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient laboratory environment, including 5S and lean lab activities.
• Contribute to research projects, including evaluating new technologies and improving laboratory ways of working.

Requirements

• Must be completing a placement as part of a degree course at a UK university through a Year in Industry, Industrial Placement, or Gap Year.
• Curiosity about materials science, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical science, or how medicines are made.
• Good laboratory skills, attention to detail, and an innovative approach to problem solving.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop scientific and professional skills.
• Reliability, enthusiasm, organisation, and the ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of tasks.
