Postdoctoral Research Associate in Polymeric Materials Modelling (Machine Learning)

What you will do

• Conduct high-quality research on the molecular modelling of cellulose and related plant cell wall polymers.
• Implement, execute, and analyse advanced molecular dynamics simulations.
• Apply machine learning techniques and deploy research workflows on the Isambard AI high performance computing platform.
• Analyse and interpret data, contributing to the scientific direction and progression of the project.
• Prepare and present regular reports on research progress.
• Assist with supervision of PhD and MSc students, health and safety activities, and manuscript preparation.

Requirements

• PhD in computational chemistry, computational materials science, or a related discipline.
• Proven research skills and experience in scientific scripting or programming.
• Experience with molecular dynamics simulations of polymers.
• Experience in molecular modelling of polymers or polysaccharides; cellulose experience is preferred.
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex scientific data.

Nice to have

• Experience with molecular modelling and simulation during the PhD.
• Experience manipulating and visualising large datasets.
• Ability to present complex information effectively to different audiences.
