IT Technical Lead (Java)

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $99,200–$124,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Java development teams.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable sanctions software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, TomEE, Angular, and AWS.
• Define application architecture, technical inventories, integrations, services, dependencies, and migration paths.
• Build database schemas, queries, stored procedures, and integrations using SQL.
• Coordinate project planning, delivery tracking, and stakeholder alignment using Rally or similar tools.
• Conduct code reviews, oversee quality assurance, troubleshoot complex issues, and support deployed sanctions solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on development experience and 2+ years as a technical lead in Java development projects.
• Strong experience with Java, TomEE, SQL, Spring Framework, Angular, and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, and Terraform.
• Experience with Rally or similar project management tools and agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Expertise in DataStage for ETL processes and data integration.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening processes.
