Sr. Automation Maintenance Manager (Robotics)

Location: Site-based position in Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Mexico. Up to 10% travel may be required, with onboarding and training travel of up to 60%.

What you will do

• Lead maintenance operations for robotic systems, bots, conveyors, lifts, controls, and supporting automation infrastructure.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, work orders, shift coverage, technician assignments, and CMMS processes.
• Drive continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, equipment reliability, uptime, and cost reduction.
• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and team leads while coordinating with Operations, Engineering, SRTE, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee safety training, safety observations, Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, 5S, maintenance documentation, inventory, and reporting.
• Support troubleshooting and structured problem-solving for complex robotic and automation systems.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of maintenance, automation, or manufacturing experience, including team supervision.
• Strong electro-mechanical skills and advanced troubleshooting experience with PLCs, servo drives, optical, laser, inductive and capacitive sensors, Rockwell Ethernet automation networks, ABB robots, and mechanical transfer systems.
• Experience with CMMS platforms; Maximo is preferred.
• Experience leading maintenance teams, coaching employees, implementing preventive maintenance, and driving continuous improvement.
• Fluent business English is required.
