Company

hirify.global develops stellarator-based fusion energy systems using computer-controlled arrays of planar coils to create a scalable source of zero-emission energy.

What you will do

  • Define the manufacturing architecture, factory layout, process methodologies, and commissioning approach for high-temperature superconducting magnet production.
  • Partner with design and physics leaders on design for manufacturability, cost optimization, prototyping, and production scale-up.
  • Lead the design, acquisition, installation, and qualification of capital equipment, custom tooling, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Build process engineering frameworks, root-cause corrective action protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers while resolving supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Mentor manufacturing engineers and technical staff, manage delivery schedules and risks, and track capital expenditure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with complex, first-of-a-kind electromechanical systems from concept through factory commissioning and volume ramp.
  • Expertise in precision mechanical assembly, thermal processing, coil winding, soldering, brazing, and specialized welding.
  • Experience with custom capital tooling, automated assembly workflows, GD&T, SPC, PFMEA, PLM, MRP, and ERP systems.
  • Background in aerospace, magnetic confinement fusion, nuclear systems, medical devices, or other high-complexity hardware.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kearny, New Jersey, and occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.

Culture & Benefits

  • Technical leadership role supporting the development of commercial-grade fusion hardware.
  • Direct interaction with executive leadership and cross-functional engineering, physics, operations, supplier, and manufacturing groups.
  • Equal opportunity environment focused on diverse perspectives and solving complex energy challenges.
