Senior Test Planning Engineer - Assembly (Fusion)

Location: Devens, MA, United States; onsite 5 days per week when assembly operations with relevant tools are underway. The role may include alternating first- or second-shift assignments and occasional off-normal work hours.

Salary: $110,000–$185,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Plan, draft, and obtain approval for SPARC Assembly test campaigns, plans, instructions, and procedures.
• Develop and mobilize specialized test methods involving low voltage, high voltage, high stored energy, and other hazards.
• Write controlled technical procedures and incorporate safety standards, pre-job briefs, data capture, and procedural adherence.
• Analyze design reviews and project risks to identify test-based risk-reduction strategies without compromising safety or quality.
• Lead troubleshooting action plans and causal evaluations following test anomalies.
• Capture team feedback after test execution, apply lessons learned, and improve technician workflow and test activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years of equivalent engineering experience.
• Previous testing experience involving hazards and high-voltage electrical testing.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam or Acrobat, and 3D modeling programs.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week during relevant assembly operations and to occasionally support alternate shifts or off-normal hours.
• Ability to work in industrial conditions involving heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
