Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; applications are not accepted from Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Wyoming.

Base salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Software Engineering during feature design to define test requirements, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Build domain expertise, perform risk analysis, and develop coverage strategies for product teams.
• Architect and maintain UI automation for critical user journeys and core product workflows.
• Develop automated API tests for microservices, webhooks, data contracts, and third-party integrations.
• Monitor automated test runs, triage failures, resolve flakiness, and escalate software defects.
• Create test utilities, data generators, diagnostic tools, and CI/CD integrations for scalable testing.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages; Ruby and JavaScript are preferred.
• Experience testing web-based products and/or mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Git, GitHub, Zephyr, and TestRail.
• Understanding of SDLC, quality assurance methods, and testing principles.
• Strong communication, initiative, self-learning ability, and attention to detail in an autonomous environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with non-functional testing tools such as Grafana k6 or JMeter.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Cucumber, Capybara, Docker, or AWS cloud infrastructure.
