Sr. Quality Engineer

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with up to approximately 10% travel per quarter for in-person collaboration and a possible in-person interview before hiring

What you will do

• Own risk-based test strategies across functional, integration, API, hardware, POS device, and end-to-end workflows.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated smoke, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing solutions.
• Integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and establish effective quality gates.
• Lead exploratory testing, defect triage, root-cause analysis, release readiness assessments, and quality risk reviews.
• Validate integrations across software, APIs, hardware, POS devices, and external systems.
• Evaluate AI-enabled tools for test creation, maintenance, failure analysis, coverage identification, and engineering productivity while mentoring teammates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, SDET, or a related technical quality role.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable technologies.
• Experience testing APIs and distributed integrations with Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Experience integrating automated tests with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or comparable CI/CD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, test architecture, risk-based testing, Agile methodologies, and quality engineering principles.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for test design, automation development, failure analysis, or related workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience testing hardware devices, POS systems, or complex software-to-hardware integrations.
