QA Engineer (Automation + Functional)

Location: Remote within the United States; solid West Coast (PT) overlap preferred.

Base salary: $95,000–$125,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated end-to-end and regression tests with Playwright.
• Run functional, regression, and integration testing across web and mobile applications.
• Partner with product and engineering to create test plans and define acceptance criteria for new features.
• Define release readiness criteria and quality gates as the team grows.
• Triage, reproduce, and document defects while tracking escaped defects, coverage, and flake rate.
• Improve testing tools and processes as the product scales.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software QA experience with hands-on test automation using Playwright or an equivalent tool.
• Experience writing test plans from product requirements and owning them through release.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in the United States and able to maintain solid West Coast (PT) overlap.
• Strong written communication for reproducible bug reports and test documentation.
• Pragmatic, self-directed approach in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience testing HIPAA-compliant systems or understanding PHI data-handling requirements.
• API testing experience or familiarity with EHR integrations such as HL7/FHIR.
• Experience in healthcare SaaS, remote patient monitoring, or clinical data platforms.
