Senior Director, Procurement (Optics)

Expected base pay: $186,900–$280,000 per annum

What you will do

• Own and evolve procurement and supply chain strategy for the Optics category, covering lasers, substrates, ELSFP modules, PCB/A, FAU, module assembly, discrete components, and testing.
• Develop multi-year supply and capacity plans for optical modules, including 400G, 800G, 1.6T, and future products.
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, long-term agreements, capacity reservations, and pricing frameworks.
• Build and lead a procurement team of commodity managers and buyers.
• Manage supply risks, business continuity, dual sourcing, allocation during shortages, and geopolitical or tariff risks.
• Drive cost-reduction and total-cost-of-ownership initiatives, supplier scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and executive reporting.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in optics operations and sourcing.
• Experience with optical module ecosystems, semiconductor and optics manufacturing processes, and leading industry suppliers.
• Experience negotiating complex, high-value supply agreements and conducting competitive bidding or RFQ processes.
• Experience managing global supplier relationships, including suppliers in Asia and Europe.
• People-leadership experience, strong analytical and modeling skills, and executive-level communication capabilities.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced technical degree.
• Established relationships with optics, photonics, substrate, PCB, OSAT, and test equipment suppliers.
• Experience with data center, networking, or hyperscaler requirements for optical interconnects.
