Sr Director, Supplier Engineering & Quality (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Austin, Texas or Santa Clara, California, United States. The role includes 25% travel and is eligible for relocation.

Salary: $184,000–$253,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead supplier engineering and quality strategy, providing direction and making operational decisions within the assigned authority.
• Lead cross-functional teams supporting supplier engineering objectives and align sourcing decisions with business strategy.
• Set and deliver goals for cost savings, value creation, vendor performance, and supply-base improvement.
• Evaluate, qualify, and select suppliers using industry knowledge, supplier dynamics, and market trends.
• Monitor high-impact vendor performance through scorecards and quarterly business reviews.
• Lead problem resolution and escalation for supplier performance issues across assigned commodities and services.

Requirements

• Mechanical, electrical, industrial, or systems engineering degree.
• 15 years of experience, ideally in the semiconductor industry.
• Broad understanding of systems, business environments, supplier dynamics, and commercial practices.
• Experience leading departments or sub-functions through multiple levels of managers.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions, negotiate with senior executives, and present complex issues.
• Ability to work in Austin or Santa Clara and travel 25% of the time.
