Signal Integrity Intern, MS – 2027 Co-Op (Semiconductor)

Expected base pay: CAD 30–41 per hour

What you will do

• Develop Python or similar scripting tools to automate signal integrity and power integrity simulation workflows.
• Build and maintain automated trace and via design-rule models for floorplans, redistribution layers, bump patterns, interposers, and package routing.
• Perform 2D and 3D electromagnetic modeling and simulation of high-speed interconnects using tools such as Ansys 3D Layout or Cadence Sigrity.
• Post-process SI/PI simulation results, extract key metrics, and generate summary reports.
• Collaborate with IP design, physical design, package, and PCB teams across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a master’s degree in electrical engineering, electromagnetics, or a related field, with expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Basic knowledge of signal integrity fundamentals, transmission line theory, electromagnetic theory, and microwave theory.
• Understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages for automation and data processing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Applicants must be eligible to access technology and software subject to U.S. export control laws; an export license review may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SPICE simulation tools for circuit-level signal and power integrity analysis.
