Plater - Dayshift (Structural Steel)

Location: Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom; onsite day shift

Pay: £18.06 per hour; overtime: £27.09 per hour

hirify.global is recruiting for a structural steel fabrication role with a temp-to-perm employment arrangement.

What you will do

• Carry out plating work on structural steel using 5mm to 100mm plate.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work to production targets and deadlines.
• Perform heat straightening and use grinders and associated equipment safely.
• Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment, including slinging techniques.
• Ensure finished work meets quality standards and follow HSEQ and safe operating procedures.
• Work independently and as part of the wider production team.

Requirements

• Experienced, time-served Plater or equivalent plating qualification.
• Previous structural steel experience is essential.
• Previous heavy engineering experience and a strong understanding of engineering drawings.
• Experience with overhead cranes and slinging techniques.
• Good knowledge of plating standards and strong health and safety awareness.
• Successful candidates must complete a trade test.

Nice to have

• City & Guilds or NVQ in Plating within structural steel.

Culture & Benefits

• Monday to Friday day shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
• Monday to Friday overtime is paid at 1.5 times the basic rate.
• Saturday overtime runs from 7:30am to 12:30pm and is paid at 1.5 times the basic rate.
• Temporary contract transfers to permanent employment in the 13th week.
