Senior Specialist, Systems Administration (AWS)

Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada; day shift with occasional work outside normal hours and flexibility for occasional travel.

Salary: 79,500–129,500 CAD annually

What you will do

• Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure and hybrid networks, including VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateways, firewalls, VPNs, and site-to-site connectivity.
• Use Infrastructure as Code to deploy and manage multi-account AWS environments and cloud services.
• Support migration of on-premises workloads, networks, and services to AWS through rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring strategies.
• Improve infrastructure security through IAM policies, network security groups, vulnerability remediation, patching, and system hardening.
• Monitor system health, performance, security, and cloud spend using AWS-native and third-party monitoring tools.
• Participate in incident response, resolve complex technical issues, and support developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Production experience with AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Direct Connect, and ELB/ALB.
• Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience in multi-account AWS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application stacks.
• Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program and for Canadian Reliability and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearances.
• Must be eligible to meet U.S. ITAR requirements.
