AWS Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS SageMaker)

Location: Onsite 5 days per week in Lafayette, Louisiana; Knoxville, Tennessee; or Birmingham, Alabama

Salary: $89,600–$139,000 per year

What you will do

• Build automation across AWS analytics, data science, and machine learning environments.
• Improve platform reliability, security posture, observability, and performance.
• Support AWS SageMaker and related enterprise data science tooling.
• Resolve complex technical issues through root cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Drive cloud modernization, platform migrations, and legacy system decommissioning.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, application teams, vendors, and other technology partners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and AWS SageMaker or a comparable enterprise ML/data science platform.
• Experience with Python, shell scripting, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in IAM, access controls, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, observability, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to cloud cost optimization or FinOps practices, plus strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Domino Data Lab or similar enterprise ML platform experience.
• Python-based data science or machine learning workload experience.
• GitLab pipeline experience.
• Experience with platform migrations, system decommissioning, AWS cost management, or FinOps.
• SAS experience for legacy system closeout.
