Legal Intern (Compliance)

Location: Must work at the corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas throughout the entire ten-week summer internship

Salary: $23.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Assist with corporate governance, board and committee processes, and entity management.
• Provide legal support for new products, partnerships, and strategic company projects.
• Support employment law matters, workplace policies, and employee relations.
• Assist with compliance programs and regulatory and government relations matters.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor program and have completed the first or second year of law school.
• Strong academic performance; a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.
• Interest in corporate law, compliance, litigation, employment law, consumer finance, or related legal disciplines.
• Strong legal research, analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, professional, military, athletic, or extracurricular experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment-based immigration sponsorship, including OPT or CPT, is not available.
