Labour & Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Based in the Netherlands or Belgium, with onsite presence required in Medemblik and Hoegaarden and significant travel between the two countries.

What you will do

• Provide expert support on complex labour and employee relations matters, including disciplinary cases, grievances, performance issues, separations, sick leave processes, and labour law compliance.
• Lead and support consultation and negotiation processes with works councils, unions, and other employee representative bodies.
• Advise on reorganisations, restructurings, organisational redesigns, and transformation initiatives across the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Lead workplace investigations, performance management processes, risk assessments, employee meetings, and related documentation.
• Act as the escalation point for complex and high-risk employee relations matters, partnering with HR, Legal, Compliance, and Global Labour and Employee Relations teams.
• Improve policies, playbooks, templates, training, communications, and case management practices.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, law, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
• Multiple years of progressive labour and employee relations experience, preferably in a matrixed international organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch and Belgian labour law, works council procedures, and labour union relations.
• Experience supporting reorganisations, restructurings, transformations, or sensitive organisational change across multiple European countries.
• Experience negotiating with employee representative bodies and drafting consultation documents and company agreements.
• Local onsite presence in Medemblik and Hoegaarden is required; local language capability for formal consultations and fluent English are essential.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated, manufacturing, life sciences, or other compliance-intensive environment.
• Experience developing manager training content or playbooks on labour relations and people risk.
