Payroll Specialist (Security Technology)

What you will do

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process across multiple UK legal entities, supporting approximately 500 employees.
• Act as the payroll compliance and governance subject matter expert.
• Manage outsourced payroll providers and third-party partners.
• Review payroll outputs and reconciliations, and support payroll accounting, reporting, audits, benefits, and salary sacrifice schemes.
• Handle complex payroll queries and investigations while providing guidance on legislation, taxation, and statutory payments.
• Drive payroll process improvements, automation, system enhancements, integrations, and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing end-to-end UK payroll within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, statutory payments, controls, governance, and compliance.
• Experience managing outsourced payroll providers, pensions, benefits, and salary sacrifice schemes.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, take ownership, and collaborate with HR, Finance, Reward, and external stakeholders.
• Full-time permanent employment based in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple legal entities, payroll integrations, interfaces, data governance, migrations, transformations, or system implementations.
• Exposure to Irish payroll.
• Experience supporting engineering, field-service, manufacturing, or similarly complex workforce environments.
• Experience with SAP or ADP Payroll systems.
