Software Quality Assurance Engineer (HPE Networking)

Location: Hybrid, based in the Westford, Massachusetts office; approximately 2 days per week onsite

Salary: USD 120,500–228,500 annual base salary in Massachusetts

What you will do

• Develop, execute, and automate complex feature test plans for BRAS, L2/L3 protocols, and networking products.
• Review market requirements, product descriptions, functional specifications, and feature documentation.
• Support beta adoption, troubleshoot beta issues, and handle complex customer queries and escalations.
• Identify deployment scenarios for releases across customer environments and share findings with system test engineers.
• Improve system test processes, reduce customer-found defects, and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Mentor system test team members, deliver technical presentations, write white papers, and contribute to patents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in complex product testing, including BRAS and L2/L3 protocol testing.
• Strong knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, routing, QoS, multicast, MPLS, and VRF.
• Hands-on experience with PPP, PPPoE, DHCP, HTTP, RADIUS, AAA, L2TP, FWA, IGMP, GRE, and 802.3ad.
• Strong automation skills using Python and Robot Framework, including GenAI-based implementations.
• Experience with Ixia and Spirent, plus strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience writing white papers or participating in technology forums.
• Experience filing IDFs or patents.
