Manufacturing Product Test Engineer (Networking Hardware)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office in the United States

Salary: USD 92,700–187,500 annual base salary in California, United States

What you will do

• Plan and develop test requirements, diagnostics, automation, equipment, schedules, and production-grade test processes for prototype and production builds.
• Design and implement test plans for complex networking hardware systems, equipment, and devices.
• Lead internal and outsourced testing resources developing and operating tooling, fixtures, scripts, automation, and test apparatus.
• Coordinate with management, internal teams, contract manufacturers, ODM partners, and development partners on test status, results, progress, and issue resolution.
• Lead test engineering projects and represent the test engineering function across complex product development programs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 4+ years of experience defining, designing, and implementing manufacturing hardware test plans for complex networking products.
• Experience coordinating test and debug activities with contract manufacturing or ODM partners.
• Knowledge of material properties, hardware and electrical component design, empirical analysis, modeling, and product validation methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting systems and equipment, developing cost-effective testing methods, leading projects, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks, diagnostics, manufacturing process improvement, and testing tools; mastery of English required.
