Head of FP&A

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom — hybrid

Salary: £100,000–£120,000 per year, depending on skills, knowledge and experience.

What you will do

• Lead the full financial planning cycle for Public Service, including budgets, forecasts, medium-term plans and reforecasts.
• Provide financial performance insight through reporting, analysis and scenario modelling, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Advise and constructively challenge senior leaders on business, investment and strategic decisions.
• Lead improvements to FP&A processes, systems and reporting tools, including simplification, automation and data-led approaches.
• Establish best-practice planning, forecasting and performance management standards and governance.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing FP&A team and build partnerships across Finance and the wider organisation.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading an FP&A, business finance or commercial finance function in a large and complex organisation.
• Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, financial modelling, analysis and communicating complex insights.
• Experience leading organisational change, implementing new ways of working and delivering measurable improvements.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide constructive challenge for strategic and financial decision-making.
• Fully qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Cardiff, United Kingdom.

• Experience implementing or developing FP&A and reporting tools to improve planning, insight and efficiency.
