Chargebacks Expert (Payments)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Istanbul, or Sofia; after three months, work two days remotely and three days in the office each week.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end Mastercard and Adyen chargeback process from submission through closure.
• Maintain the central operational playbook and decision framework for chargebacks.
• Define performance metrics, conduct gap analyses, and implement corrective action plans.
• Use AI and automation to streamline submissions, support investigations, and update users on case status.
• Improve user-facing chargeback flows and communication templates.
• Ensure compliance with payment regulations, PSD2, and card scheme rules.

Requirements

• Required expertise in chargebacks, card operations, and merchant disputes.
• Experience using data analysis to identify root causes and deliver measurable improvements.
• Ability to manage complex cases hands-on and take ownership through resolution.
• AI-first mindset with an interest in automating manual operational processes.
• Fluent English with perfect written and spoken clarity is required.
