TL;DR
Head of Risk (Crypto): Owning enterprise, financial, and non-financial risk management for a MiFID II-regulated digital assets entity in Cyprus with an accent on risk appetite, prudential capital, liquidity, market, credit, operational, and technology risk. Focus on strengthening governance, challenging margin and stress-testing models, managing ICARA and CySEC reporting, and building operational resilience under DORA.
Location: Limassol, Cyprus; candidates must already be based in Cyprus and able to work from the office

What you will do
- Own and continuously improve the enterprise risk management framework, including risk taxonomy, risk appetite, risk registers, policies, RCSA methodology, and the three-lines-of-defence model.
- Manage financial risks across credit, counterparty, market, liquidity, funding, capital, margin, leverage, settlement, and collateral.
- Own the ICARA, capital and liquidity adequacy monitoring, wind-down analysis, and prudential reporting to CySEC.
- Design and run firm-wide and reverse stress tests covering market shocks, counterparty defaults, venue disruption, and volume spikes.
- Lead non-financial risk management covering outsourcing, business impact analysis, incident escalation, operational resilience, BCP/DR, and DORA requirements.
- Prepare decision-oriented risk reporting for the Board and Risk Committee and address Internal Audit and CySEC findings.
Requirements
- Already based in Cyprus and able to work from the Limassol office.
- Approximately 8–10 years of risk management experience within a regulated broker, investment firm, exchange, or clearing member, including leadership of a risk function or major risk domain.
- Demonstrated ownership of enterprise risk frameworks and risk self-assessment processes.
- Experience across financial and non-financial risk in capital markets, exchange, broker, or crypto environments.
- Expertise in financial instruments, including crypto, stocks, ETFs, derivatives, commodities, clearing, and settlement.
- Working knowledge of CIF prudential requirements, IFD/IFR, ICARA, K factors, CySEC reporting, MiFID, DORA, MiFIR, and EMIR, with strong quantitative skills for analysing models, stress scenarios, and exposure data.
