Financial Controller

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands — hybrid. Remote-friendly work is available from anywhere in the Netherlands, with the option to work abroad within Europe for up to 12 weeks per year, no more than 4 consecutive weeks.

What you will do

• Strengthen and improve internal controls to ensure accurate, reliable, and auditable financial data.
• Support VAT, ICP, and CIT compliance and statutory filings with external advisors.
• Own and improve accounts receivable and revenue control, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and billing accuracy.
• Run AR, intercompany, and bank reconciliations and substantiate balance sheet accounts.
• Contribute to monthly close and year-end audits through journal entries, schedules, PBC requests, and walkthroughs.
• Streamline processes and drive automation across NetSuite, Salesforce, and Stripe while partnering with Finance leadership.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in financial control, accounting, or audit, gained in Big Four or industry environments.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with VAT/ICP, CIT, revenue, and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience improving controls, processes, reporting, reconciliations, or finance systems.
• Fluent English is required; Dutch is an advantage. Experience with ERP systems is expected, with NetSuite, Salesforce, or Stripe considered a strong advantage.
