Senior Accountant (Workday Financials)

Location: Baltimore, MD, hybrid with remote and on-site work

Salary: $35.00 per hour

hirify.global is hiring for a contract-to-hire accounting position supporting corporate financial operations.

What you will do

• Perform variance analysis on monthly financial statements, investigate anomalies, and identify root causes.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead key areas of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee fixed assets, prepaid expenses, revenue recognition tracking, and GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Use Workday or another ERP to improve accounting workflows, data accuracy, and reporting efficiency.
• Prepare analytical schedules and supporting documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Advanced data manipulation skills using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query, or SQL.
• Experience with a large ERP such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Baltimore, MD environment and commit to a 3–6 month contract-to-hire arrangement.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA qualification.
