Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Payments): Building and operating scalable backend services for a FundsCore settlement platform serving large numbers of merchants with an accent on reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency. Focus on designing internet-scale microservices, optimizing databases and infrastructure, improving production engineering with AI tools, and mentoring engineers through complex delivery and operational challenges.
Location: Onsite at CMC Creative Space office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

What you will do
- Design, build, deploy, and operate scalable backend services for the FundsCore payments and merchant settlement platform.
- Own features and projects from requirements clarification and technical design through testing, launch, monitoring, and post-launch improvement.
- Lead technical discussions and design reviews while balancing reliability, latency, throughput, performance, and cost.
- Improve observability through metrics, logs, traces, SLIs, SLOs, alerting, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to build secure, scalable end-to-end workflows.
- Contribute to CI/CD, testing, documentation, and engineering standards; mentor engineers, participate in on-call rotations, handle incidents, and conduct technical interviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with strong algorithms and data structures fundamentals.
- At least 5 years of professional backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Golang, including concurrency, standard libraries, application optimization, and backend service development.
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, database performance, query tuning, AWS or GCP, scalable microservices, and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with TDD, continuous integration, continuous delivery, Git, Jenkins, and unit testing frameworks.
- Fluent English is required. Experience using AI-assisted development and production engineering tools for coding, debugging, testing, code review, incident investigation, troubleshooting, and system design.
