Onboarding Specialist (Payroll Software)

Location: Canada — fully remote

Salary: CAD 48,000–65,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage the end-to-end onboarding process from account submission through the client’s first payroll run.
• Configure payroll accounts accurately and ensure compliance with company policies and government requirements.
• Train clients through calls, emails, and online sessions on using the payroll platform.
• Track, document, investigate, and resolve onboarding issues with Sales, Risk, and Support.
• Maintain setup instructions, support notes, system configurations, and other onboarding records.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to the onboarding journey.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience processing Canadian payroll or supporting payroll onboarding, implementation, or client support.
• Understanding of payroll compliance and taxation basics.
• Experience managing KYC, KYB, and other compliance documentation.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, organization, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working with CRM tools such as HubSpot, Google Workspace, and video-conferencing platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Nice to have

• PCP designation or progress toward it.
• Membership in the National Payroll Institute.
• Experience with payroll or HR platforms.
• French and English bilingual ability.
• Experience working with a remote or distributed team.
