Sr Engineer, Edge Computing and Networks

Location: Primarily in-person at the office Monday through Friday; occasional travel for meetings, audits, vendor engagements, and site visits.

Salary: $116,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and improve reliable, secure, and scalable networking, server, storage, monitoring, and data center systems.
• Lead reliability engineering, performance tuning, capacity planning, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code, automation, provisioning, and configuration management practices.
• Support monitoring, alerting, observability, security controls, infrastructure cost optimization, and cloud spending management.
• Collaborate with development, operations, security, and business teams while mentoring junior engineers and serving as an escalation point.
• Maintain technical, service transition, ticketing, and change management documentation and participate in major incident bridges and on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 5+ years of professional experience may substitute for the degree.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, networks, or a related field with hands-on technical expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of the OSI model and protocols including DHCP, DNS, AD, TCP, and UDP.
• Deep experience with networking, server management, storage, monitoring, and data center operations.
• Availability for 24/7 on-call escalation, work outside normal business hours, and weekends when required.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, ISO, ITIL, and other infrastructure or regulatory frameworks.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, dental, retail, or large enterprise experience.
• Experience with SD-WAN, command-line interfaces, PowerShell, Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, VMware, AWS, Microsoft, or Palo Alto technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, VMware VCP, ITIL, or COBIT.
• Experience with customer-facing policies, technical documentation, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
