Engineer Principal, Electrical Engineering (Fiber-Optic Transceivers)

Location: New Taipei City, Taiwan; occasional travel to Mainland China and potentially overseas is required.

What you will do

• Participate in the full product development lifecycle for high-speed fiber-optic transceivers.
• Design circuit schematics, substrate layouts, and multilayer PCB layouts, and prepare manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with PCB, substrate, and FPC suppliers on Design for Manufacturability reviews.
• Perform signal integrity and power integrity simulations and optimize designs based on the results.
• Conduct Engineering Validation Testing, Design Validation Testing, hardware debugging, and root-cause failure analysis.
• Evaluate electronic devices and components for future products.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of circuit schematic design, PCB layout workflows, RF/high-speed design, power layout, HDI, SAP, and mSAP manufacturing techniques.
• Experience designing analog/mixed-signal, power-management, and MCU-control circuits, including BOMs, PCB files, and PCBA assembly instructions.
• Experience with DFM reviews, component selection, hardware validation, debugging, failure analysis, and signal and power integrity simulations.
• Proficiency with Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Autodesk AutoCAD, LTspice, ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, Keysight ADS, or equivalent tools; experience handling 3D CAD models is required.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PADS, Altium Designer, Polar Instruments, PTC Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Advanced power circuit design, power electronics above 30W at low voltages, and advanced power integrity simulation.
• Knowledge of high-speed/RF interconnects, NRZ or PAM4 signaling, and optoelectronics.
• Experience with vector network analyzers and high-speed digital communication analyzers.
