Staff Electrical Engineer (Fiber-Optic Transceivers)

What you will do

• Participate in the full product development lifecycle for high-speed fiber-optic transceivers.
• Design circuit schematics, substrate layouts, and multilayer PCB layouts, and prepare manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with PCB, substrate, and FPC suppliers on Design for Manufacturability reviews.
• Perform signal integrity and power integrity simulations and optimize designs based on the results.
• Conduct EVT, DVT, hardware validation, debugging, and root-cause failure analysis.
• Evaluate electronic devices and components for future products and provide occasional technical support during travel to Mainland China and potentially other overseas locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience designing analog, mixed-signal, power-management, and MCU-control circuits, including PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of RF and high-speed layout, power distribution, HDI, SAP, mSAP, PCB, substrate, and FPC manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with serial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and MDIO, as well as signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
• Proficiency with Cadence OrCAD and Allegro, AutoCAD, LTspice, ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, Keysight ADS, or equivalent tools.
• Good spoken and written English and Chinese are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PADS, Altium Designer, Polar Instruments, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or other layout and CAD software.
• Advanced power circuit design, power integrity simulation, and experience with power electronics above 30 W at low voltages.
• Knowledge of NRZ, PAM4, high-speed RF interconnects, differential signaling, and optoelectronics.
• Experience using a Vector Network Analyzer or high-speed digital communication analyzers for RF and high-speed measurements.
