Electric Drive Design Engineer (Electric Drive Systems)

Location: Qingdao, Shandong, China; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Develop, integrate, and validate electric drive systems and components for NTI and NPI earthmoving product programs.
• Define powertrain system architecture and integrate motors, motor controls, converters, PDUs, and high-voltage electrical installations.
• Translate voice of customer requirements into customer-critical requirements, evaluate concepts, perform DFMEA, and create technical specifications.
• Lead system and component design review meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on CPPD and APQP activities.
• Lead Level 4 electric drive system on-machine performance tuning.

Requirements

• Degree required.
• Knowledge of electric drive systems, powertrain architecture, motor control, converters, PDUs, and high-voltage electrical installation.
• Experience with DFMEA, technical specifications, product testing, troubleshooting, and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to analyze root causes, develop alternative solutions, and address significant technical challenges.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Availability to work onsite five days a week in Qingdao, Shandong.
