Applications Engineer (Power Electronics)

Location: Pudong, Shanghai, China; regular travel within Asia and occasional travel to Europe and the US

What you will do

• Co-manage the daily operation, safety, organization, and 5S standards of the Pudong laboratory.
• Operate die attach machines, sinter presses, printing systems, reflow ovens, environmental chambers, die shear machines, X-ray, CSAM, and other processing and test equipment.
• Maintain assigned equipment, perform periodic maintenance, and support analytical equipment operation.
• Own customer electronic assembly projects from conception through implementation and completion.
• Produce samples, conduct DOE studies, gather process and analytical data, and prepare technical reports.
• Support product development, customer technical inquiries, sample-build campaigns, and complex multi-site projects with global teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and at least three years of experience in electronics assembly.
• Experience with die attach processes; experience with the ESEC die bonder platform is preferred.
• Knowledge of computer-aided design and the ability to perform manual machine assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and modification.
• Understanding of FMEA, process equipment field maintenance, and technical reporting or training.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English is required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while following safety, confidentiality, and company procedures.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical or engineering degree.
• Experience with ESEC die bonder equipment.
• Exposure to field maintenance of process equipment.
