Senior System Engineer (Life Sciences)

What you will do

• Translate product requirements into system-level requirements, specifications, architectures, interfaces, workflows, and performance parameters.
• Lead multidisciplinary product development from concept and feasibility studies through integration, verification, validation, and release.
• Maintain requirements traceability and assess the technical impact of requirement changes across subsystems.
• Coordinate global engineering teams, resolve cross-disciplinary technical conflicts, and lead architecture, design, and technical reviews.
• Define risk management, verification, and validation strategies, including test plans, acceptance criteria, FMEA, and hazard analysis.
• Approve system readiness for prototypes, design freeze, release milestones, manufacturing transfer, and sustaining engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, automation, precision instruments, mechatronics, photoelectronics, or a similar discipline.
• At least 8 years of engineering experience in new product development and at least 3 years in life sciences, industry devices, scientific instruments, imaging systems, or related industries.
• Experience leading complex system development projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.
• Broad knowledge of systems, mechanical, optical, electrical/electronics, software, and firmware engineering.
• Experience with system architecture, requirements engineering, risk management, system integration, design reviews, verification, and validation.
• Fluent English and Mandarin are required.

• Experience with optical systems, imaging systems, or microscopy products.
• Experience in regulated product development environments.
• Experience working in global, cross-functional engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with FMEA, risk management, and reliability engineering methodologies.
