Project Management Placement (Aerospace)

Location: Broughton, North Wales, United Kingdom. The placement is based at the Broughton manufacturing facility; hybrid working options may be available depending on the role.

What you will do

• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives from concept through execution, tracking project timelines and cost-saving milestones.
• Conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective action plans to support a zero-accident culture.
• Map workflows and apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve wing production efficiency.
• Work with shop-floor operators, engineering teams, H&S leaders, business support, and senior management.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and promote positive safety behaviours across the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate status is mandatory for the full duration of the 12.5-month placement; candidates must return to their studies afterward.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Interest in lean manufacturing, aviation, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency with digital collaboration and project tools, including Google Workspace.
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to build relationships, facilitate meetings, and influence stakeholders.
• Successful candidates will be subject to BPSS screening and may require UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control approval.

• Experience or interest in project coordination, safety management, process improvement, or manufacturing operations.
