Device Engineering Intern, ULP CMOS (Fall 2026)

Location: Malta, New York, USA; onsite

Salary: $20.00–$40.00 per hour; final salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Design test chip layouts for ultra-low-power CMOS device technologies.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments for silicon transistor technology development and optimization.
• Submit and analyze inline and bench electrical tests.
• Characterize devices and monitor cost, variability, reliability, manufacturability, and competitiveness.
• Automate and standardize device analysis to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with technology development, end-market, and product-line management teams to define technology requirements and roadmap goals.

Requirements

• At least a sophomore pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or a related field through an accredited program.
• Overall GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing.
• Written and verbal English fluency required.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Ability to work safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Nice to have

• Prior related internship or co-op experience.
• Leadership experience in the workplace, academic projects, or competitions.
• Project management, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes.
• Understanding of solid-state device physics, submicron FET architectures, and device-characteristic implications.
