Senior Authorised Person (SAP)

Location: Predominantly site-based in Swansea and Bristol, United Kingdom, with regional travel, weekend work, and rota-based on-call duties. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Carry out LV, HV, and EHV switching, isolation, earthing, testing, fault location, and safety documentation activities on networks up to 132kV.
• Plan outages, produce switching programmes, and liaise with System and Local Control.
• Control and monitor electrical construction and fault restoration work, including emergency power restoration.
• Lead safety activities by developing SHE plans, reviewing RAMS, delivering inductions and toolbox talks, investigating incidents, and conducting site inspections.
• Manage smaller and non-complex projects, including client liaison, tender support, valuations, invoicing, and monthly targets.
• Supervise Jointer and Fitter teams, provide technical guidance, and mentor trainee SAPs.

Requirements

• Authorisation to conduct switching operations from 11kV to 33kV.
• Current DNO or equivalent Certificate of Authorisation.
• Technical knowledge of DNO switchgear and associated plant.
• Knowledge of current regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills with a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
