What you will do
- Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities, including earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, and related civil engineering works.
- Set out and survey works using total stations and GPS to maintain accurate alignment and levels.
- Inspect sites, monitor progress and quality, and identify deviations or technical issues.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers and maintain site diaries, progress reports, quality documentation, and safety records.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and work permits while enforcing health and safety procedures.
- Monitor project costs and support delivery within budget and schedule.
Requirements
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Site Engineer on highways and road construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, regulations, health and safety legislation, and environmental requirements.
- Experience with setting out techniques and surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
- Valid UK driving licence and CSCS card, or equivalent, required.
Nice to have
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
