Operations Supervisor (Natural Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite at the Joliet Field Headquarters, Joliet, Illinois; must live within the area for reasonable response to callouts and emergencies.

Salary: USD $120,800–$148,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee daily operations across assigned natural gas pipelines, measurement stations, compressor stations, and related equipment in District 328.
• Plan district activities, coordinate maintenance and third-party construction, and support project scopes and work plans.
• Manage PHMSA, regulatory, environmental, safety, security, and operator qualification requirements.
• Plan and forecast capital and O&M budgets for the assigned area.
• Lead employee training and development, supervise crews across multiple locations, and promote operational excellence.
• Respond to operational issues, inspections, audits, callouts, and emergency situations while maintaining reliable service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least seven years of experience with mechanical and pipeline systems.
• Experience operating pipeline, measurement, pressure regulation, or compressor station systems.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high- and low-pressure systems.
• Supervisory, asset management, leadership, communication, planning, and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and residence within the Joliet area for emergency response.

Nice to have

• Degree or additional technical education.
• Experience managing capital and expense budgets.
• Experience supervising pipeline, compressor station, and measurement station crews.
• Knowledge of natural gas engineering, DOT Part 192, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and other technical diagrams.
