Electronics Service Engineer (AV)

What you will do

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, calibrate, and test LED displays and professional AV equipment.
• Perform board-level and component-level repairs using manual soldering and hot-air rework techniques.
• Service power distribution systems, including 400V three-phase systems, and carry out preventative maintenance.
• Complete firmware updates, configuration checks, performance testing, and minor mechanical fabrication.
• Manage PAT testing, electrical safety checks, certification records, and compliance documentation.
• Support operations with urgent repairs, field troubleshooting, spare-parts control, supplier coordination, and equipment reliability reporting.

Requirements

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Competence in soldering and PCB fault tracing.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good IT skills and experience with service or asset management systems.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills with flexibility to respond to operational demands.
• Work is based in Crawley, Sussex, United Kingdom, with site attendance required when field repairs or technical troubleshooting are needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with three-phase power systems.
• BS7909 certification.
