Technical Event Producer (AV)

Location: Onsite in Chicago, United States. The broader company model is hybrid, with most locations requiring four days in the office each week.

Total cash compensation: $74,325.00–$109,008.33 annually, including annual base salary and target incentive.

What you will do

• Own technical event delivery from intake and event design through rehearsal, live execution, recording, debrief, and media handoff.
• Operate auditorium, control-room, audio, video, projection, camera, lighting, teleprompter, streaming, accessibility, and room-control systems.
• Produce in-person, virtual, hybrid, webinar, and live-streamed events using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, vMix, and related platforms.
• Act as producer, show caller, or technical director by cueing speakers, playback, cameras, lighting, audio, projection, teleprompter content, and transitions.
• Create production plans, run-of-show documents, cue sheets, presenter instructions, staffing plans, schedules, and contingency plans.
• Coordinate crews, vendors, staging, load-in, setup, testing, rehearsals, live operation, teardown, maintenance, and equipment returns.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience producing technical elements for corporate events, meetings, remote productions, webinars, and live streams.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, PTZ cameras, audio mixers, production switchers, lighting, wireless microphones, encoders, and projection.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, AV-over-IP, Dante, NDI, signal flow, streaming protocols, codecs, and media formats.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, lead crews, work independently, prioritize under pressure, and troubleshoot live production issues.
• Strong communication, documentation, recordkeeping, reporting, and stakeholder-service skills.
• Availability for early starts, late finishes, occasional weekends, out-of-hours maintenance, travel, and cross-time-zone support.

Nice to have

• Experience with comparable broadcast production switchers, routers, digital consoles, DSP platforms, event platforms, and AV systems.
• Experience with Ross Ultrix, Ross TouchDrive, openGear, 12G-SDI, Q-SYS, Yamaha, Shure, ETC, Chauvet, Bitfocus Companion, and RTMP workflows.
