Sports Producer

Location: Chicago, Illinois, onsite at 2501 W. Bradley Place (WGN-TV)

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annualized, commensurate with experience and skill level.

hirify.global operates WGN-TV, a local television station delivering broadcast, streaming, digital, and social news content.

What you will do

• Produce daily sports segments and sportscasts for broadcast and streaming platforms.
• Write and edit accurate, engaging sports content under deadline.
• Coordinate coverage of local, regional, and national sporting events.
• Develop feature stories and creative storytelling beyond highlights and scores.
• Collaborate with anchors, reporters, assignment editors, photographers, newsroom leadership, and digital and social teams.
• Support livestream productions using OBS, vMix, and related streaming technologies.

Requirements

• At least five years of television producing experience in television, streaming, digital, or sports media preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong news judgment and understanding of sports storytelling.
• Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
• Knowledge of Chicago sports teams, collegiate athletics, and major national sports.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as major events require.

Nice to have

• Experience with ENPS, BitCentral, and Adobe Premiere.
