Senior Staff Product Designer (Risk/AI)

Location: Remote in the United States; remote work is intended for people located 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from a Stripe office. Occasional office visits may be required for team or business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events.

Annual US base salary: $228,300–$342,500.

What you will do

• Shape the future of Risk across core user journeys and new product surfaces.
• Design experiences that help users onboard, stay compliant, and manage risk with clarity and control.
• Explore, shape, and prototype new products, including modular, configurable, API-first risk capabilities.
• Partner with product, engineering, policy, operations, research, and other disciplines on complex problems.
• Influence product strategy, storytelling, visual standards, and design patterns across Stripe.
• Mentor Risk designers and cross-functional partners while raising the bar for craft and systems thinking.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience designing products.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent craft, systems thinking, and end-to-end design.
• Strong understanding of AI tools.
• Experience leading complex product work with product management and engineering.
• Experience shaping ambiguous problem spaces and influencing cross-functional teams and product direction.

• Experience with systems, strategy, and 0-to-1 product thinking.
• Ability to turn complex systems, policies, and edge cases into clear product experiences.
• Strong storytelling and the ability to align partners around a point of view.
• Experience building trust through design in high-stakes or sensitive user moments.
